ChatGPT Search

ChatGPT Search will let you search on the web and find the best answer for you, condense it, and present to you the answer you need. It is good? I tried some queries, and it’s good, but not as good as perplexity but better than Google Overview.

The search functionality is available to all ChatGPT Plus and Team users and SearchGPT waitlist users. You can use it at chatgpt.com and on their desktop and mobile app.

They will start to roll out to Enterprise and Edu users in a few weeks. And the free users can use it over the coming months.

They also have partnered with news and data providers to add up-to-date information and add visual designs on weather, stocks, sports, news, and maps.

Here are some of them.

How you can use it?

For ChatGPT Plus, Teams users, and SearchGPT waitlist — they can use it now at chatgpt.com.

For enterprise and edu users, they have to wait a few weeks.

For free users — they have to wait a few months.

How to use Chrome?

You can try the search feature on Chrome. Here is how:

  1. Go to the Chrome web store and install the “ChatGPT Search” Chrome extension. (If you can’t find here is the link.)
  2. After the installation, the Google search will replaced by “ChatGPT search”.
  3. You can directly search on Chrome now.

Ending thought:

Google is losing their search, and they can’t find the solution to be profitable with this way wave of search. Perplexity is killing it right now and they are constantly adding new and interesting stuff to it. You can follow CEO Aravind Srinivas to learn more about perplexity.

It will be interesting to see how OpenAI’s search will progress in the future. Try it yourself and compare it with others.
